Is the Dublin Middle Tier part of the Dublin Soccer League? Some people say it is other say it is not.

The two are affiliated and work together in many ways, but I would not describe DMTSO as part of DSL.

Some confusion might be caused by the fact that DMTSO teams competing in MOSSL are sponsored by DSL and have a DSL prefix attached to their names.

The answer is actually quite simple. The soccer community within Dublin offers several distinct programs. The design point is that everyone desiring to play soccer in Dublin will have an option that will meet their individual needs.

The Dublin Soccer League is responsible for the recreational level of play within Dublin. This offering is the lowest cost option that requires the lowest level of commitment (typically 8 or 9 practices each season and 7 or 8 games).

In addition to providing this level of play, the DSL is also responsible for allocating fields for all of the Dublin Soccer Community (including DMTSO, Team Ohio FC and Ohio Premier). The Mid Ohio Select Soccer League (MOSSL) requires that all teams U-14 and below be sponsored by a member league recreational program. Hence, all Team Ohio, Ohio Premier and DMTSO teams that are playing in MOSSL are sponsored by the Dublin Soccer League.

The DMTSO is a separate entity that places teams in various leagues that best meet the needs of each individual team. Some of our teams play in MOSSL -- and are therefore, sponsored by the DSL as our Member League. The DMTSO is NOT officially a part of the DSL. However, we are both part of the Dublin Soccer Community and we rely on the DSL to provide factilities for our use. In addition, our coaches and players virtually always come to us from the DSL.

Team Ohio FC and Ohio Premier have a similar arrangement with the DSL in that their MOSSL teams are sponsored by the DSL. Are either of these entities a part of the DSL? Well, no, not technically. At the same time, these two clubs and the DMTSO do need the continued cooperation from the DSL in order to participate in MOSSL at U-14 and below.
