Fall 2009 Registration Refund Policy

If a child registers for the Fall \'09 season of DMTSO/Team Ohio and then makes a middle school fall sports team, what will the refund policy be?

First of all, I cannot tell you what the Team Ohio refund policy is. I suggest that you contact Team Ohio via their website (www.teamohiofc.com) for information.

As a matter of policy, the DMTSO does NOT issue refunds. Our All-Inclusive pricing model attempts to provide the best possible value for our players. Therefore, we set our fees in a manner that does not have excess costs that would allow a team to lose a full paying roster spot and still be able to fund all expenses.

While this may seem unfair to those not able to make a full commitment to a team, we have determined that it is not feasible to create a fee structure that attempts to take such possible drop outs into account.

I would guess that clubs would have a similar policy. This type of player creates a real problem any organization trying to form teams (including planning to buy uniforms, line up coaches, etc.). Let\'s say that four players from the same team all make a middle school fall sports team (football, golf, cross country, field hockey, or volleyball). The team started out with 14 players. The team is now down to 10.

If your child is contemplating playing a fall school sport that could cause the player to miss most games, the DMTSO is not a good option -- nor is Team Ohio.
