# of Games Question

What are the Minimum/Maximum number of games teams should be playing per season. Reason i ask is our team only has scheduled 7 games this fall and i would expect at least a few more (as advertised on the home page). How is this monitored and what can be done?

Coaches set the number of games to be played. Most teams elect to play 10 - 12 games. Other coaches are more focused on training than on playing games. I am only aware of one team playing seven games. The coach of that team is clearly one of the top one or two coaches in the program. His schedule is based on the best development for the players. If there is an opening on another team, we may be able to move your child. Personally, I think this would be a huge mistake. The U-7 teams are a pilot program completely different from the rest of our program. A few other coaches elect to schedule fewer games and more practices -- depending upon the needs of the team.
