Flexability
My son will be 13 in the Fall. He has played very competitive soccer for 6 years at a club level. He enjoys other sports very much, so he wants to play football in the Fall of 2010. This will not work with our present club and coach so we are moving on from that situation.
If he wanted to keep one foot in soccer during the fall season and play school sports as well, does this level of soccer commitment allow for that activity. If so he would probably want to play the next age up! Soccer would be secondary. Please advise if this would be a viable option.

Re: Flexability
Quite frankly, once a player reaches the 7th grade, the SCHOOL teams have virtually ZERO flexibility. Therefore, the player ends up taking up a spot on one of our teams, but ends up missing most of the events during the season. This is not really fair to either the players on the team nor the player involved.
Up through the U-12 level, we can accommodate those wishing to play multiple sports since we are working with non-school sport coaches who tend to be more flexible. School sport coaches -- not Dublin United coaches -- make participation at the Jr. High level in multiple sports virtually impossible.
